I CAN TOO® Pilot Project
Easter Seals Canada is piloting the ‘I Can Too!®’ Disability Education Program that originally began in NFLD and has reached over 46,000 students since inception. In 2026, several provinces committed to participating in the pilot, including PEI, and the target is children in Kindergarten, Grades 1-6, and day care.
Her Honour Antoinette Perry, who taught in the Island school system for 30-plus years, helped deliver ESPEI’s new disability education program. To date, we have delivered the pilot program to more than 250 students from across the province.
We thank our friends at West Royalty Elementary School for helping us officially launch the pilot. In the picture above was Della Parker, left, Chair of ESPEI; Her Honour Antoinette Perry, Helen Chapman, ESPEI Executive Director, Rowan MacDonald, 2026 ESPEI Ambassador, Lisa Parent, Rowan’s mother, and Janice Blackquiere, Tim Hortons School Tour Coordinator.
Special thanks to GFL Environmental for their gift through its Full Circle Project to purchase the dolls and storybooks. Here is GFL’s General Manager, Wenda Pitre, with West Royalty Elementary Grade Three students Emma MacDonald and Jane House.
