Easter Seals PEI celebrates 70th Anniversary

February 13, 2026 | News

Today is an exciting day for Easter Seals PEI.

At a recent Rotary Club of Charlottetown meeting, Easter Seals PEI Chair Della Parker announced ESPEI is celebrating its 70th birthday with activities taking place all year-long, including a goal to raise an additional $70,000.

With Della is fellow Rotary member and Mayor of Charlottetown, Phillip Brown, along with 2026 ESPEI Ambassador Rowan MacDonald, and his father, Christopher MacDonald of Charlottetown.

“It was on February 13, 1956, that the Rotary Club of Charlottetown agreed by unanimous vote to adopt Easter Seals PEI as the program to continue its support of children with disabilities,” says Parker.

“70 years later, Easter Seals PEI is still a major project of the Rotary Club of Charlottetown, and now in partnership with the Rotary Club of Montague and Eastern PEI and the Rotary Club of Summerside, with its mission expanded to enhance the quality of life, self-esteem, and self-determination of Islanders with disabilities.”
